200 of West Virginia’s top players gathered in Morgantown on May 2, 2026, for one of the state’s premier offseason evaluation events. While the focus was primarily on upperclassmen, several rising sophomores made strong impressions and showed they are already competing at a high level. The overall takeaway: the next wave of talent is ahead of schedule in multiple programs across the state.
Below is a breakdown of top performers, testing standouts, and players who elevated their stock.
Top Testers & Overall Standouts

Matthew Iman — TE/LB, Moorefield
Iman delivered one of the most complete performances of the day. Measured at approximately 6’3″, 200 pounds, he showed why Moorefield utilizes him in multiple roles. His athletic testing placed him near the top of the 2029 class, posting a 4.81 40-yard dash, 4.48 shuttle, and 8’7″ broad jump.
For a rising sophomore with his frame and versatility, those numbers stand out even more. The combination of size, movement skills, and positional flexibility points to long-term defensive and hybrid potential.

Konner James — WR, Independence
James showed steady production in one-on-ones and elevated his profile significantly in testing. Already north of 6’0″ and continuing to add strength, he projects as a long, physical receiver with developmental upside.
He recorded a 4.86 40-yard dash, 4.59 shuttle, and 8’4″ broad jump. For his size profile, the explosiveness metrics are particularly encouraging and suggest further gains are likely over the next two offseasons.

Noah Reed — RB/LB, Spring Mills
Reed continues to trend as a tough, multi-role athlete with room to grow. Standing around 6’0″ and approaching 200 pounds, he posted a 4.91 40-yard dash, 4.64 shuttle, and 8’5″ broad jump.
While not flashy, his testing aligns well with his physical style of play. He is positioned for a meaningful jump entering his sophomore season as strength and acceleration continue to develop.

Tramel Musgrove — LB, South Charleston
Musgrove entered the event as one of the most highly regarded underclassmen in attendance and reinforced that status throughout the day. The only 2029 player invited to the top session, he already holds Division I offers and carries significant long-term projection.
At roughly 6’4″ with a notable wingspan, he posted elite testing numbers: 4.72 40-yard dash, 4.50 shuttle, and 8’6″ broad jump. The combination of size, athleticism, and verified production traits places him among the top early prospects in the state.
