2022 Recap

The 2022 football season proved to be a formidable challenge for the Lincoln County Panthers, as they fought through a series of setbacks and close defeats. Despite their struggles, the team managed to find a spark of hope in a late-season triumph, showcasing their determination and resilience.

The Panthers, hailing from Hamlin, West Virginia, wrapped up their season with a record of 1-9. Their lone victory came in a resounding fashion against Braxton County, with a final score of 38-14. This triumph provided a much-needed morale boost for the team and served as a testament to their perseverance throughout a difficult season.

Throughout the campaign, the Panthers battled hard and came tantalizingly close to securing additional victories. Two particularly close losses against Clay County and Ripley demonstrated their ability to compete against formidable opponents. Offensively, the Panthers averaged 11 points per game, a statistic that doesn’t fully reflect the determination and effort displayed by the team on the field.On the defensive end, the Panthers faced an uphill battle, conceding an average of 37 points per game.  The Panthers’ ability to make their adversaries work for every point demonstrated their determination and never-give-up attitude.

While the 2022 season may not have yielded the desired results for the Lincoln County Panthers, their determination and grit shine through as they finish on a high note. With their eyes firmly set on the future, the Panthers will use this season as a stepping stone toward future success on the gridiron.

Led by team captains LB Logan Sponaugle and RB Austin Adkins, the Panthers have a roster filled with impact players such as QB Lucas Johnson, RB Drew Banks, OL/DL Walter Adkins, OL/DL Bralin Peters, and CB Steven Adkins. With a dedicated focus on strength training and growth, the team has set its sights on making a playoff run.
