2022 Recap


The Clay-Battelle football team had an impressive 2022 season, finishing with a commendable 7-3 record and making it to the first round of the playoffs. Building on their recent success, the team under the guidance of Coach Ryan Wilson showcased their skills and determination on the field throughout the season.

The Clay-Battelle team started the season on a strong note, displaying their potential with a series of victories. Though a tough loss early, the racked wins off and put themselves in a good position for the playoffs. Being consistent paid off, finishing with a 7-2 regular season record.

In the first round of the playoffs, Clay-Battelle faced off against the eventual state champions, Williamstown. Their season would end in the first round but a commendable fight would be the end.

Looking ahead, the Clay-Battelle football program is poised for continued growth and success. Coach Ryan Wilson’s commitment to developing well-rounded athletes both on and off the field is evident, and his focus on building a sustainable program ensures a bright future for the team.

2023 Outlook


As the summer heat settles over Clay-Battelle High School, the Cee-Bees’ football program is already gearing up for an exciting and challenging 2023 season. Head Coach Ryan Wilson, faces the daunting task of replacing a significant number of starters from the previous year’s team. With only nine returning starters, the team will need to rely on a mix of great senior leadership and the promising potential of younger players to make their mark on the field.

Leading the charge in terms of senior leadership are team captains Zac Hall, Maddox Shriver, Easton Rowan, and Kooper Statler. These seasoned veterans bring invaluable experience and a wealth of knowledge to guide the team through the ups and downs of the upcoming season. Their commitment, both on and off the field, will be crucial in shaping the team’s performance and fostering a winning mentality among their teammates.

The quarterback position will be manned by a dynamic duo consisting of Braden Ponceroff and JC Spears. As they step into the shoes of their predecessors, Ponceroff and Spears will be tasked with orchestrating the Cee-Bees’ offense, ensuring smooth execution of plays, and making smart decisions under pressure. With their skill sets and the support of the coaching staff, they are poised to lead the team’s offensive charge and provide a spark in crucial moments.

On the defensive side of the ball, linebackers Maddox Shriver and Maverick Gum will be a key figures.
