2022 Recap

The 2022 Cameron Dragons football team displayed an outstanding performance last season, finishing with an impressive record of 11-1. Despite a heart-wrenching loss in the second round, the Dragons had plenty to celebrate, boasting an undefeated regular season and several notable victories along the way.

The Dragons roared into action from the very start of the season, winning their first eleven games in a row. Their offense proved to be a formidable force, averaging an impressive 35 points per game. Led by a talented roster of players and a solid coaching staff, Cameron consistently delivered electrifying performances that left fans on the edge of their seats.

Equally remarkable was the Dragons’ defense, which proved to be a fortress against opposing teams, allowing only 9 points per game on average. This outstanding defensive effort was instrumental in securing many victories throughout the season and demonstrated the team’s commitment to both sides of the ball.

Highlighting the Dragons’ remarkable journey were significant wins over formidable opponents. Tyler Consolidated, Oak Glen, and Pendleton County all fell victim to the relentless offensive and defensive prowess of the Dragons. These victories not only showcased the team’s skill and determination but also solidified their reputation as a force to be reckoned with in the state.

However, despite their remarkable success, the Dragons faced a heartbreaking defeat in the second round against Doddridge County. Despite their best efforts, the team fell short, losing with a final score of 21-6. It was a tough pill to swallow for both players and fans, but the Dragons’ exceptional season should not be overshadowed by a single loss.

As the curtain falls on their 2022 campaign, the Dragons can hold their heads high, knowing they gave their all and left an indelible mark on the football landscape. With their incredible achievements, they have undoubtedly set the bar high for future teams to aspire to. The future looks bright for the Dragons, and fans eagerly await the next chapter in their football journey.

2023 Outlook

The Cameron Dragons football team is gearing up for an exciting season as they set their sights on continuing their winning tradition under the leadership of head coach Tim Brown. With a talented roster and a strong emphasis on teamwork and determination, the Dragons are poised to make their mark in the competitive Northern part of the state this fall.

At the helm of the Dragons’ offense is quarterback Colson Wichterman, a true gunslinger with a remarkable ability to thread the needle. Wichterman’s strong arm and exceptional decision-making skills make him a formidable force on the field. As the team’s offensive linchpin, he will be relied upon to lead the Dragons’ scoring drives and guide the team to victory.

Joining Wichterman in the backfield is running back J Ross, whose lightning-fast speed and agility make him a threat to opposing defenses. Ross’s ability to find open lanes and break tackles will be instrumental in sustaining the Dragons’ ground attack. With a strong offensive line, led by the talented Thad Dempewolf, the Dragons’ running game will be a force to be reckoned with this season.

In the receiving corps, wide receivers Mason Scott and Kason Angel are expected to play crucial roles for the Dragons. Scott’s reliable hands and route-running skills make him a go-to target for Wichterman, while Angel’s speed and elusiveness allow him to stretch the field and create big-play opportunities. The dynamic duo is set to provide the Dragons with the much-needed aerial threat to keep opposing defenses off-balance.

The Dragons’ fans are eagerly awaiting the start of the season, brimming with anticipation and high hopes for another successful campaign. With a potent offense led by Wichterman and supported by a talented cast of players such as Ross, Dempewolf, Scott, and Angel, the Dragons are determined to make their mark in the Northern Division.

As the 2023 football season draws near, the Cameron Dragons football team is ready to step onto the field and continue their winning ways. With a rich tradition of success and a talented roster led by head coach Tim Brown, the Dragons are poised to dominate their opponents and leave a lasting legacy in the annals of West Virginia football.
