Berkeley Springs
2025 Record: 2-8

The Indians were more competitive than their record indicated in 2025. Berkeley Springs opened the season 2-1 and remained competitive throughout much of the year, with several close losses preventing what could have been a winning campaign.
The outlook for 2026 is encouraging thanks to the return of quarterback Jalen Miller and versatile playmaker Kyle Moore, the duo that drives the offense. Their experience should help Berkeley Springs continue its upward trajectory.
Several swing games will determine whether the Indians can take the next step. Matchups against Smithsburg (MD), Grafton, Southern Garrett (MD), Hampshire, and Shady Spring could ultimately shape their season.
Frankfort
2025 Record: 10-0

The Falcons entered 2025 with championship expectations and somehow exceeded them. Frankfort rolled through another undefeated season, capturing its second consecutive state championship while extending its winning streak to 28 games.
Although an accomplished senior class graduates, the Falcons remain loaded with talent. Two-way athlete Braydn Tyler, lineman Anthony Smith, and linebacker Gunnar Bradshaw headline a roster that should once again rank among the state’s best.
The schedule includes several intriguing matchups, particularly late-season battles with Independence and Wahama. Until proven otherwise, Frankfort remains the team to beat in Class AA.
Moorefield
2025 Record: 2-8

The Yellowjackets faced one of the toughest schedules in Class AA during the 2025 season, but they steadily improved and finished the year with victories in two of their final contests.
While Moorefield loses quarterback Cyrus Kump following his transfer to Elkins, there is still plenty of young talent to build around. Rising standout Matthew Iman is expected to play a major role on both sides of the ball, while specialist Levi Davis provides a dangerous weapon in the kicking game.
The schedule remains challenging, but opportunities exist. Key contests against Hampshire and Petersburg could define the first half of the season, while games against Weir and Berkeley Springs later in the year may prove pivotal.
Petersburg
2025 Record: 7-3

The Vikings continued their recent success in 2025, finishing strong and earning a second consecutive playoff appearance. Petersburg once again established itself as one of the Eastern Panhandle’s most consistent programs.
Graduation removes several important contributors, but the Vikings retain offensive centerpiece Payton Metheny, giving them an experienced playmaker to build around.
A difficult schedule awaits. The season opens with a major showdown against Pendleton County before a brutal midseason stretch featuring Doddridge County, Philip Barbour, and Frankfort.
