Top 5 WV Specialists in AAA for 2020

For our second off-season, we will be releasing to the public our Linemen & Combo Scout Sheet. It will not include the numeric ratings seen on the same sheets seen by college coaches but will use a color-coded guide. It will not have player’s academic and contact info- which will be seen by colleges.

What’s on it?

175 organized and evaluated 2021-2024 West Virginia Fullbacks, Tight Ends, Offensive Linemen, and Defensive Linemen.

Do colleges have to pay?

No, colleges will not pay for our scout sheets. They will be sent an all-in-one scout sheet that includes further information to assist in the recruiting process.

5. Austin Springer

Springer was an important factor in Bridgeport’s title run last season. Following a strong Bridgeport kicking tradition, he was consistent points for a run offense that got across the fifty often. He was good on extra points and kickoffs as well. He will have the opportunity to make a big jump his senior season.


TIE – 3. Griffin Price

Price was one of the most prolific kickers in 2019. He was perfect from the field with a long of 40 yards. The Patriots have been using Price for a multitude of of purposes. Price was very consistent as an extra point man as well. He should get even more opportunities going into his senior season.


TIE – 3. Andrew Glass

Glass has been the man for Wheeling Park for several years now. Last year, he had a great make percentage with a long of 40 yards. He was relied on often when the high-flying Park offense was scoring or when it needed a critical field goal. His role this season is sure to increase yet another time.


2. Michael Hughes

Hughes has been an elite specialist for George Washington since his freshman year. Tall and with a booming leg, he was a key part in the Patriots big 2019 run. He has been near perfect from the field with several over 40 yards. The only misses were tipped or blocked it seemed. Hughes also has rounded his game with explosive kickoffs and punting.


1. John McConnell

McConnell returns for his senior season as the #1 rated AAA specialist yet again. He possesses all the tools to be a high-level collegiate punter. He has the length and the boom. McConnell averaged well over 40 yards a punt and was great placing them too. To complete his skillset, he was also one of the most prolific field goal kickers in 2019, too.
